Basic Guitar Course (3 months)



1. Fundamental music theory

  • Relatives chords


2. Knowledge of the guitar
  • Name of structure of the guitar
  • Correct positioning of your hands( left hand, right hand)
  • What's an open string?
  • Tuning of the guitar


3. Introduction of chords (harmony)
  • Basic major and minor chords
  • Family of chords
  • How are chords formed and how do they create a so-called family
  • Open chords and Barred chords


4. Techniques
  • Right hand (plucking, strumming)
  • Left hand (chords)


5. Exercises
  • Songs of suitable level for their exam pieces. Includes both strumming and plucking.
  • Music theory test

Intermediate Guitar Course (5months)



6. Music Theory
  • Transposition
  • The 7th note
  • Octave


7. Introducing more of barred chords
  • Sharps and flats
  • Family members of the sharps and flats


8. Fraction chords
  • How do they fraction?
  • Which is the bass and which is the harmony?


9. Techniques
  • Right hand (more difficult strumming and plucking grooves)
  • Left hand (barred chords, fraction chords)


10. Introducing the use of capo
  • What is the purpose of a capo?
  • Using the theory of transposition how do we apply it?
  • Advantages and disadvantages of using the capo?


11. Exercises
  • Songs of suitable level for their exam pieces. Includes both strumming and plucking.
  • Testing the knowledge of using the capo.
  • Music theory test

Advanced Guitar Course



1. Music theory
  • Scales of all families
  • Harmony and melody


2. Techniques
  • Right hand (strumming, plucking and picking)
  • Left hand (chords and scales of different families)
  • Applying fancy skills using the guitar
  • Fill in (interlude, joining of in between space, solos)


3. Play along session
  • Follow the music and add in suitable fill in and solo where and when necessary)
  • Student will be given the opportunity to play whatever they like and apply all knowledge.
  • Student will be required to showcase both right and left hand skills that they have learn.
